Lent

Well lent is upon us again. When I was at mass on Ashe Wednesday with the kids father talked about sacrifice. The three things we should do during lent is give, pray and fast. Wow, nothing about giving up chocolate! I have decided that at night we would all pray together before we go to bed. We always say prayers, Our Father, Hail Mary, Now I lay me down to sleep, and for the sick but we were given a book with a prayer for the day at church on Sunday. We will be reading the passage and talking about it before we go to bed. We talked about fasting. My oldest gets it, I think but the other two, not so much. The kids are not big snackers so it really isn't that much of a deal. Myself on the other hand, when the kids go to bed I raid the re fridge so I am giving up snacking at night unless it is fruit or veggies! I will continue to work on the others minute by minute.

The kids have decided they will give up things. Katie is giving up Ketchup and BBQ sauce. She thinks they are a food group so for her to not have any the next 40 days is a true sacrifice. Christine is giving up pop. I said when do you drink pop? When we go out for lunch w/ Daddy. Well, I guess both of those are off limits for the next 40 days. My oldest, she is giving up reading books more than 500 pages. Seriously, is that a sacrifice. I guess for my little bookworm it seems like it is....Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice!

The president should talk with Dave Ramsey

I am someone who learned at a young age debt is bad. If I don't have the cash then I can't have it. I know Mrs. Jones has one but I'm not balancing Mrs. Jone's checkbook and credit cards. Sure I have a mortgage because I don't keep 100,000 + dollars in the bank and I have one car payment but the rest is cash baby!

Now when I keep hearing about our country I think Dave Ramsey. What would he do? I am sure that really don't need to pay for every ones debt. GET A JOB. I know people are losing their jobs but really you can't find something? McDonald's? Kohl's? Baby siting for people who are working? Cleaning houses? It really irks me when I read today they we are going to help Israel rebuild at the cost of 800 million dollars? Where is the money coming from? Did Obama start delivering pizza's for some extra income? I doubt it! He is to busy flying at tax payer money "selling" his buy out package. Why don't you stay home, stop eating out and traveling and save your money (oops I mean my money). Figure out a budget and cut the crap we don't need! buckle up your big boy pants and put your foot down. If you are smart, you have saved the millions you are making off of your book deals and political office jobs that you won't ever have to work another day in your life after you leave the presidency. So do what is right the next 4 years and balance the budget, cut the crap and stop supporting people who don't want to work! Stop running for polical office, you won! Now work for the next 4 years making things right! and you might go down in history as one of the greats?

Inkheart

Today is one of the mid winter break days. The kids have had two half days and then have all day Friday off. Why not just have school M-T-W and then we can get out of dodge TH-M. Not that we would go anywhere since I work every weekend but at least we don't have to do the morning rush around on Thursday. Well I told the girls if they could get their Feb. book reports done I would take them to the movies today. They put a dent in the job and I wanted to hit an early movie so I gave in and let them go to Inkheart. The movie was ok, I had free passes from work and a refillable bucket for popcorn, that I bought during Christmas break, so it cost 5$ for a bag of candy and a pop for me! I have to say it was still a great afternoon. We enjoyed the movie, popcorn and having time just us girls being together. Daddy had to work and we made it girls afternoon out! Then after the movie we were all full on junk so we went the library as usual and then home for dinner. I made frozen pizza and let the kids watch the old Brady bunch TV shows during dinner, I never do that! The kids loved it! S said mom you are letting us watch tv and drink lemonade for dinner! What's up! It's nice to let my hair down once in a while! Don't tell Daddy!!

When do you call the Doctor?

I know people who wipe their nose once, run to the doctor, get put on antibiotics, end up with a yeast infection, so now some more antibiotics and all for what? a cold? My issue started Tuesday morning. I woke up with a runny nose and yucky stuff draining from my right eye. I had pink eye a few years ago and it itched like $%#%#$ so I didn't want it to progress to that stage. I waited the day out, drank juice, ate soup, and took decongestants. I told the kids to wash their hands, wash their hands and did I say wash their hands. When I woke up the next morning both eyes were draining, red, swollen but not itching. So I decided I should call the Dr. Maybe I needed drops? Maybe I had pink eye. I called the Dr.'s office around 9 am at 12 noon they called back. I ran through all of the symptoms she said she would talk with the Dr and let me know what she said. At 3pm she called back and said I should call my eye doctor, seriously, I said back! and she said that what she told me to tell you! So I took that as a sign that "nurse heel thy self"! More soup, decongestants, not touching my face or things in my house without washing my hands and washing the sheets and pillow cases on the bed. So, today I woke up and had decreased drainage, swelling and they were hardly red. Who needs a doctor! I know it probable wasn't pink eye because if it was I would have scratched my eye balls out by now! Thank GOD, I feel better!
